Hershey Dinner

I mentioned earlier that Dustin and I had a day of cooking and baking planned. Well.....our cabin fever outweighed all other ideas, so we went shopping in Roanoke, VA instead. The roads were very clear and it was safe to go, so we proceeded. However, we did end up cooking and baking tonight rather than yesterday. We did have school after a two hour delay, and as soon as we got home we started dinner. The pictures you see are of the cocoa-coffee chicken with salsa and the chocolate crinkles. (It really isn't burnt regardless of how dark it looks.)

The chicken was delicious....after we scraped off some of the topping. A hint of the topping made the chicken delicious, but too much topping was overwhelming. I can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Surprisingly it did not taste like chocolate or coffee. However, Dustin thought it did have a cocoa-coffee taste. His final words were, "I think chocolate should stay as a dessert".

The salsa was delicious!! And it was refreshing to get my veggies tonight from something other than a can or frozen package. The cilantro, green onions, and avocado made a deliciously light and fresh salsa. Of course, the chocolate crinkles were my favorite!! I am a 100% sweet eater rather than savory. If I could get all of the vitamins and minerals I needed from chocolate I would be happy with that!
