Trip to the Park

Well. The story starts out bad. It was early Saturday morning and I wanted to take Cocoa for a run. Cocoa and I headed out for a beautiful morning run when I passed one of the houses and out ran a HUGE black and brown German Shepherd. It wasn't on a leash so I thought it was trained...but I shortly found out I was wrong. He came charging toward Cocoa and I at neck break speed!! I screamed and the owner came out to chase him down. I didn't know what to do. Should I let go of Cocoa so I wouldn't get hurt because the dog was clearly after Cocoa? But I didn't want Cocoa to run too far away if I did let her go. So I kept a hold on Cocoa's leash thinking that if he got super close I would be able to kick him as hard as I could to protect us. ha ha. Well, we were running away from the dog at this point when he came up and bit Cocoa on the bum. She yelped and jumped off all four legs straight up into the air. After the owner retrieved his mean dog, I checked Cocoa out to make sure she was fine. She wasn't bleeding and did not wince when I put pressure on her bum. So it all turned out fine.

Well, I felt terrible for Cocoa. She was so excited to be outside running that I hated to cut her run short. So, I decided that we would take her to the park. Here is the park that is about two miles from our house. It is BEAUTIFUL!! We love going out there almost as much as we enjoyed going to the Greenbrier River trail in Lewisburg. Alyssa didn't really take in any of the scenery. She slept the entire time. There are two pictures of Cocoa and I running, one of Cocoa checking out the ducks, and some of Dustin and Alyssa. Enjoy!
