So, I'll begin by saying that I'm not the mush-ee gush-ee type. My dad would say I inherited this from my mom. Dustin says he is glad that I'm not the mush-ee gush-ee type and expect all sorts of romantic gesture and blah blah. Even worse than that. He is glad I'm not a cryer. He doesn't know how to deal with crying. I asked him what he was going to do if a patient started crying, and he said he would probably leave the room the first time because he wouldn't know what to do.
Anyway, I thought it would be a fun sentiment to honor Dustin on our third anniversary. Keep in mind that I'm not very sentimental, so I'm not going to air out any special thoughts that I may have for all to see. So here is a light hearted happy anniversary to Dustin. Here goes.
I love that...
3. there's never a dull moment with you. I'm specifically referring to our first anniversary! No running water to take a shower because we shared water with the cows and the cows broke a trough so they were getting all the water and we were getting none! You decided that it was a great idea to get the Britta water out of the refrigerator and pour it on my head without giving me any warning about what you were going to do! (I would recommend going back and reading that post. The post date is July 16, 2007.)
2. one of the two times I cried since I've known you, you took it seriously. I cried when Alyssa was exactly two weeks old because Cocoa's hair was getting on her things and I just couldn't keep up with Cocoa's hair. You didn't know what to do so you did the only thing you could do....leave the room (ha ha). When I returned to the house after a baby shower that afternoon Cocoa was bathed, groomed, the house was vacuumed, and everything was spotless. You may not immediately know what to do in every situation, but you figure it out eventually!
1. you dream!! Even when those dreams bring us to a place I never thought I would be living...West Virginia. Your dreams have brought us to WV, to a house with mushrooms growing out of the wall, to a porch filled with sheep and sheep poop when we return from church, and required us to move every year of our marriage so far. Sometimes I feel like a little puppy following you around the country. Ha ha.
What a journey!! What will we get ourselves into next!?!?! Happy anniversary! Love ya!!
On another note. I woke up to these heart shaped pancakes this morning. He also got me the 24 roses you see below. Red and yellow were the colors at our wedding so that's why he got those colors, 12 red and 12 yellow. What a sweetie!!
