Verse

So at church we have been focusing on PRAYER and I have been going through a prayer devotional. Often times when I sit down to do my daily reading, I find myself unfocused, thinking about the dirty dishes, or painting my toenails....I know, I know, I have vain distractions sometimes! Well, I decided to go through an actual devotional that is pre-structured so that I could have something to follow and be able to stay on task. It is going well!! I am loving it! With all of that said, I wanted to have a verse this month on prayer, so I chose this verse which tells the importance of having FAITH when we pray. Prayer alone is not enough....that faith part is pretty important. What an easy concept, but yet so difficult sometimes.

But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

So we've actually gotta have that faith part when we pray or we are considered unwavering and unstable. I think we are supposed to go for the tree planted by the water that will not be moved rather than the unstable sea.

Faith, a crucial part of the prayer equation!! I think I already have my second verse for the month, which will be about having CONFIDENCE when we pray. Can't wait, but I better get this one memorized first!!
