Since we have been in WV, we have had satellite t.v. Well, around the middle of January our digital converter box coupons arrived. We headed out, got the converters, cancelled our satellite, and now receive two channels! The lady on the phone couldn't understand why we were canceling our satellite....but we told her we were budgeting tighter. I'm excited to have one less monthly bill! We only receive CBS and FOX with the converters, but we are hoping when we get to Huntington we will have ABC and NBC as well. Until then, I will just have to watch Grey's Anatomy online the following day....unless the show gets any more silly...then I will stop all together!
I hope you are all having good luck with your converters!!

D.O., Osteopathy
I haven't posted much about medical school lately, but I thought this would be a great week to do so. Dustin's school, WVSOM, is having a spirit week celebrating osteopathy. I thought I would post a link if you were interested in learning more.
Basically when Dustin graduates from WVSOM he will have the letters "D.O." following his name rather than "M.D.". When he graduates, he can take the D.O. and/or M.D. exams and be certified in one or both. Both medical approaches are equally qualified and able to do everything from prescribe medicine to perform surgery. It might be interesting for you to look at the letters following your doctor's name. You might be surprised to see D.O. rather than M.D. I know that I had been seen by many D.O.s and didn't even realize it. That's because there isn't much difference, except the philosophy of osteopathy is that D.O.s focus on your body as a source for healing rather than going immediately to medicine and prescriptions.

KODA WAS ADOPTED!!
I never wrote anything on the blog about Koda, but I'm sure you noticed that I have not put any pictures of him on here for many months. The reason you have only seen pictures of Cocoa is because this past July we were forced to give Koda back to the Humane Society where we got him. He was getting aggressive and bit both Dustin and me. We did everything we could to stop this aggression, including seeing two trainers, but it didn't seem to work. He was only object aggressive, which means that when he had something he knew he wasn't supposed to have, he would bite your hand off to keep it and protect it. Well, one day it went too far and we could see that our attempts to stop the aggression were not working. When we took Koda back, we told the Humane society that he had bitten both Dustin and me. They said they would put that on his cage so if anyone was interested they would have that information. If Koda showed them any aggression or if no one wanted him, he would have been put down.
Well, until today we were too chicken to ask if he was re-adopted or if he was euthanized. (Why we were at the Humane Society today is another story that I will tell later). Here is the story about Koda...
It was the day he was scheduled to be euthanized and a man went to the Humane Society, took one look at Koda, and immediately knew that was the dog he wanted. The worker informed him that he had bitten both of his owners who were male and female. He said that was fine because Koda would be in a fenced in 8 acre area with cows. HOW PERFECT!! That's just what Koda needed...room to roam. We were so glad that we asked about Koda. I know he is loving his new home! Prayers even work on animals!!

It's happened to us all!!
So, I always tell when Dustin does something silly, so he told me I needed to post about my little episode today....
Here's the story....
I was getting very tired of working out to the same workout videos and I needed a fresh exercise option. So, tonight we rearranged the living room to fit the elliptical. I was so excited to have another workout option. I jumped on the elliptical and grabbed my weights and got busy. Well, at exactly the one mile mark, I began getting some serious cramps in my toes on my left foot. I just kept going thinking that working those toes would work the cramps out. Well, pretty soon the cramps needed a different motion than the back and forth walking to work them out. So, I got off the elliptical and walked around the house. Then, without warning, Baby Girl moved just right, which made it time to empty my bladder...IMMEDIATELY!! So, I head to the bathroom to begin that process, I'm screaming because of my toe cramps, and guess what else..........that's right....it's happened to us all....I notice that someone had used the last of the toilet paper! And to top it off, the only banana we had in the house is in the picture above. It was too old to eat, so that couldn't help get rid of my toe cramps.
So, I am "taking care of business", asking Dustin to bring me toilet paper, and not able to walk on my ever increasingly painful toe cramps because I am "taking care of business". By the way, Dustin was trying to nail our antennae to the wall and he was in a position that he couldn't get down immediately. What a mess I got myself into!! He didn't realize how much it hurt until when he finally brought me the toilet paper he saw a tear trickle down my cheek. So being the great guy he was, right there in the bathroom he started trying to rub out my poor toe cramps.
As an update, I made it out of the bathroom and my toes are not cramping at this moment. Whew!! What a night!!
Blanket Stealer
I posted a few days ago about how much Cocoa LOVES to lay on blankets. Well, last night I was sitting on the couch covered up with a blanket, and within seconds Cocoa was nuzzling up with the blanket. She started out with just a little bit of the cover, but by the end of it she had some how wallowed around and had more of the blanket than I did. She's a mess!!

Cocoa's Hideout
Cocoa making plans for her sleepy spot

Scratching and making circles for the perfect lay down spot

Ahhhh....a nice hideout!!

Cocoa LOVES blankets!!!! If I am on the couch covered up with a blanket and even an inch of the blanket is touching the floor, she will curl up as much as her body as she can and lay on that inch of blanket. Well, SOMEHOW today when I was gone and Dustin was here she found a blanket that was on the couch and drug it to the floor. She magically folded it over and scratched around until she was actually between the blanket..not just under it, but there was blanket under her and over her. Here are the pictures Dustin took as he watched this process. What a creature!! She never ceases to amaze me!
