37 Week Appointment

I'll start with the bad news.......I have gained two pounds since last week!! YIKES!!!!

Good news...

The check-up went fabulously!! The baby's heart rate was wonderful. Without divulging too much information, I will just say that things are progressing quickly. This is the week when the doctor begins doing a more detailed examination. Of course I am never excited about those, but I lived through it. Anyway, I will just say that I am glad my hospital bag is already packed! The doctor did not think that going past my due date would be something we would face AT ALL!! So she gave me the low down on what might happen in the next week that would require me to go to the hospital. WOW!! What exciting news! I'm not expecting it to happen this week. Dustin's guess is April 22 and my guess is April 24. I guess we will see.

So now that I am home and over the initial reaction that things are definitely progressing and the excitement that goes with it, I am surprisingly peaceful. I thought I might begin getting really nervous about D-Day and all it entails, but at this point I am totally peaceful and READY!! Maybe that's why God planned the 9 month pregnancy. By the time 9 months rolls around it is time to be over. That poor elephant. I still can't imagine 22 months of pregnancy.
