Left The House In A Big Bow
This is what she actually wore to church today. She actually left the house in a big bow (big for us anyway). We're working our way up in the world of bows...slowly but surely.
Going To Church
I know she is in the same outfit in all of these, but I just loved the different faces she was making so I had to include them all. Also, I added the soft edging in the first picture, so I included it too. We were getting ready to go to church, but we had to change the dress because she got too much drool on it. I LOVE LOVE the dress (thanks, Katie)! Maybe next week she can actually wear it TO church.

What a Guy!!
My Thursday evening began on my knees in front of the toilet. I will try not to paint a vivid picture for you, so I'll move on with the story. Dustin heard my despair through two closed doors and came running to my rescue. Not only did he check on me, but he cleaned the entire bathroom after my regurgitation. I had a less than quiet evening resting in bed. From the bed, this is what I see and hear...
Dustin is running from the couch making sure Alyssa is content and not crying to the stove where he is attempting to make himself dinner. He is between the two locations several times flying at the speed of light. After his dinner is successfully made he set it down in the living room while he returned to the kitchen to retrieve his soda. Upon his return to the living room he disappointedly discovered that Cocoa had enjoyed his lovely dinner. After another trip back to the kitchen he heard the whispy tail of Cocoa knock over his ice cold soda. Throughout this process I heard many long and loud sighs of frustration as he attempted to make dinner, coax Alyssa, and remain calm. The soda was a final straw and the next words I heard come out of his mouth were, "SIGH!! Do you have this much trouble during the day when you are here by yourself?!?!?!?!" I just chuckled inside and pretended I was still asleep.
So what can I say? Dustin is a great guy! He cleaned up after my sickness explosion, took care of Alyssa Thursday evening and Friday. (I went to the doctor he is with to make sure I didn't have the flu, and the doctor told him to "Go home and take care of your family".) Then, today, he helped me sanitize the entire house! What a guy!!
Dustin and Alyssa have not been sick. I thought I would include this photo of Alyssa (clearly not sick) lounging on the couch with her hands behind her head.

Rolling Over
Well, today it happened......she ROLLED OVER!! We were doing tummy time and she kept rocking back and forth. I wondered if she would roll over, but I was so surprised when she did. I then picked her up from tummy time so she could save her energy to possibly roll over again when Dustin got home. Sure enough she did it for him too! So the video you see in this clip is her third time rolling over. I honestly thought her roll overs would be less frequent and much farther apart, but I guess not. Enjoy!!

My Struggle With The BIG BOWS
Unpacking, bow partying, grocery shopping, catching up on sleep, playing and laughing with Alyssa. These are a few things that have captured my time rather than blogging over the past couple of days. My appologies! Here's what's been going on.....
Alyssa is constantly trying to put her hand in her mouth. She most recently discovered that although her entire hand doesn't fit, she can successfully put her thumb in and is completely content with that.
A bow party?!?! That's right. There are an abundance of girl babies among our friends, so we attended a bow party. You can see from the last picture that I branched out from the small bows and bought a bit one! Susan, I got this orange bow to match the outfit you got Alyssa (the outfit is just a tad too big still). I thought I would put this bow on her for church yesterday. You see, this whole big bow world is a little scary for me. I'm not sure why, but I'm a little nervous about them. It's not that I'm afraid she can't hold her head up because of a big bow (trust me, I made sure she could). The bow could only weigh, what, maybe a fraction of an ounce, but for some reason something is holding me back from going out into public with a big bow on her head. To go to church, I tried about five bows on, and guess which one she left the house wearing.....NONE!! I'm hoping I can make it though this bow struggle. It may take some time, but I will keep you updated on my progress.
When the hand doesn't fit.....

......try the thumb!
