Swimsuit Shopping

Today we went shopping in Kentucky. It's rare, but we were actually in three states, but only 30 minutes from home. We leave WV and go through Ohio and then Kentucky. Anyway, we bought Alyssa a swimsuit since we are going to be near a pool in the next few weeks. I thought this was the best swimsuit for her figure. You can see those chunky thighs and legs! Someday she will thank me. HA HA

Also, we swung by the Dr.'s office on our way to weigh her. She will be three months old Sunday so we thought it was close enough to get her measurements. She weighs 12 pounds and is 23 inches. You GROW, girl!!

Sleep Update

The past few nights she has slept for 7 hours straight!!! It has been amazing because almost three months ago was the last time I have gotten that much sleep. The magic hours are from 9 pm to 4 am and then she eats again at 7 or 7:30. Maybe she will start to skip the 4 am meal and sleep straight until 7. Until then I am going to bask in my new found seven hours of sleep an enjoy that!

Goin' To Church

Alyssa has grown into another dress!! I have several summery dresses and I was afraid she would grow into them AFTER summer. But it looks like she will be able to wear them all this summer. Although...church began at 11:00 AM and she was hungry at 10:50. So I took her to the nursery to feed her and she spit up on her dress. The fabric was not even the slightest bit absorbant, so one little spit up spread over half of the dress. So before she even left the nursery I had to change her dress. I'm glad I always get pictures in her outfits BEFORE we go out!

Learning To Sit Up

This chair is supposed to help babies learn to sit up. Dustin went out last night and bought one because he just couldn't wait to try it. It is a very soft foam that contours to her little body so she sits in it comfortably. You can see that she is holding her head up, but she is still working on gaining complete control. She's still a bit of a bobble head, but doing great.

Sleeping Update: Alyssa will be three months next Sunday. So many babies are sleeping through the night by this point, but not Alyssa. Up until a few days ago she continued to wake every two to three hours to eat. Well, last night we had a breakthrough!! She slept from 8 PM to 1:30 AM...that's 5 1/2 hours!! I must confess. I thought that I would sleep so well when she began sleeping longer periods, but since it was the first time I found myself frequently waking up to make sure she was still breathing. We are making baby steps. Pretty soon she will be sleeping longer and I will sleep during that period as well. It's going to take some time though. I'll keep you posted.

P.S. Ignore the man in the background of the video. It was about 5:00 AM this morning that I filmed this. Alyssa was up and ready to play, but Daddy wasn't.

Foggy Day in Missouri

The video quality isn't very good because it was SOOOOO foggy that morning in Missouri. The trick isn't that Cocoa catches the frisbee because she only does that sometimes. The tricks are what she does on command such as "around", "through", "up", and so on. Enjoy!

Really?!?!

Is this really the same baby?!?!?!

I love, love, love looking back at pictures from when she was born and see how much she has changed. I would never think my own baby was ever less than cute, but I must say she has come a long way since that early picture. She isn't gray anymore and she has some chubby now.

Up Early

So Alyssa seems to laugh and smile the most in the morning. She is bright eyed at about 5 am each morning. This morning I wanted to get some good smiling pictures, so I put a bow on her and snapped away.

Alyssa is still NOT even close to sleeping through the night. I'm hoping she begins sleeping longer periods soon!!
